How to get to Cat Ba island?

First way: From Hanoi, you can ride Vietnam motorcycle tours to National road No.5 Hanoi – Hai Phong to reach Dinh Vu ferry station. The distance from the ferry station to Cat Ba island is 130km, therefore, you have to catch the two different ferries, so it takes a little bit much time. The first ferry is from Dinh Vu station to Ninh Tiep (Cat Hai island) and the second ferry from Got ferry station to Cai Vieng to reach Cat Ba.
Second way: You can ride along the National road No.18 via Bac Ninh province and Hai Duong province to Ha Long city. From Ha Long, you can catch a ferry at Tuan Chau. Although the distance is longer, about 150km on the way of your Vietnam motorcycle travel but you have to take  only 1 ferry to reach Cat Ba island, so it takes only 40 minutes.
